Greeting my Brothers and Sisters, I would like to introduce my self, out here from New Orleans now living in Woodland Hills Ca. One of the early internal displaced Katrina survivors. Five years after Katrina my wife and I have managed to get our town house back up. But we have to yet to feel that relief of not having to pay rent and mortgage note with reconstruction cost. We where among the fortunate ones, able to fine work and meet most of our financial obligations many others where not so fortunate . I have not seen the numbers on how many homes in New Orleans East or the hold of New Orleans that went into foreclose or just given over to the morgue lenders . They keep talking about $12 billion dollars spent on reconstruction. We did not qualify for any of it and my understanding of the formula to award funds has been found discriminatory with out any remedy. I would like to give a moment to the 2000 or more who lost there lives in the storm and there after.
We will continue to demand Justice for all those effected by the like of federal,state or local help in getting there lives back and that would include us. Climate change is real and if we do not make the true commitment to change our government and corporate leaders position on reducing our carbon dioxide to 350ppm from what appears to be a continues increases is at 392ppm CO2. we will suffers from higher tempters, droughts, rising ocean levels, fresh water shortage and famine. Now this may not mean much to you but over the last 20yrs the average tempters has be increasing with each decade hotter then the last. We have a short period of time to get enough people involved to save our world. I am quit sure god is with this effort to save one of his most chariest creation. The question is will enough humans stand up for there right to live in a world that is not over heating, poach crops leading to mass hunger, deplete water table due to over us with no recharge, multiple weather catastrophes, population from coastal communities displaced.
We must make sure President Obama, Congress and the corporate ruling class understand ,we will do what every may be necessary to save our world for ourselves and generation yet born. We can not just make empty treats but stated facts. So one action proposed and supported by some is to take 10-11-10 off for Climate crisis and give our government and the ruling class pause and we take that day to debate and dialog about the climate crisis and proposed solution. Than you take yourselfs and as many of your family,friends and anyone ealse you get to participate, to your congress person office for a set down meeting with letters demanding lowers of co2 production and keep global temperatures rise below two degree centigrade that sicintistes agree we need to say below for a livable world for most of us. Letters that have demands deadlines and yes they may be up for re-election so again this is not a empty trait.
